Macbeth has always been to me a show with tremendous mystique and a formidable reputation so when I found out Maya Costanzo was directing I knew I had to get involved somehow.
    Since it is one of Shakespeare's most famous plays, Macbeth is very daunting to approach, and being confined to Zoom has been another challenge in itself. Despite these constraints, working with this team has made the process cohesive, rewarding, and extremely fulfilling.
    One of the first things one would notice about our production is our unique concept. Working off of Maya's original proposal of setting Macbeth in a cult, with the cast we shaped a whole new world set in the Iron Age, borrowing elements of structure and landscape from the Druid religion and original setting of Scotland, while also creating our own new societal structure. This devised work truly brought our team together and added a level of collaboration even beyond the usual ensemble work. Outside of rehearsals, Maya and I put additional hours into crafted and shaping this world of Haverphate, which we are very proud of and are very excited to share with you all!
    Lastly, I just wanted to note how thankful I am to have gotten to do a project like this in such a hard time. The pandemic has truly been a struggle for theatremakers and artists everywhere and I am so grateful I have been able to have a semblance of peace, collaboration, and creativity with everyone involved in this production. The work is truly amazing and impressive.
    And Maya, you have been such a mentor and shining light these past months. Your leadership and dedication are truly inspiring! I can't wait to see where you go in your career and I am very proud of you!!
